Geneva is a city recognized for its Car Show we all loved the Geneva Motor Show and we all missed not having it for a couple of years. Luckily a new concept was born thanks to the Franck Muller, watchmaking brand. Franck Muller together with their partners created the luxury and sportscar automotive fair, that took place in the Domaine du Grand Malagny. This historic residence features breathtaking views of the lake and Mont Blanc. This property is also a large exhibition space, thanks to spacious indoors and hectares surrounding the space. Its elegant premises allure visitors with Swiss beauty and luxury. There are always exhibited Franck Muller watches, as this property belongs to this Swiss Watch tycoon.

From the 6th to the 9th of July, the Geneva Supercars Show was presenting the latest creations from some of the world’s finest automobile brands. Many prestigious brands made their way to Switzerland to showcase their concept and unique cars to luxury and sports car enthusiasts.

Geneva Supercars Show from a woman’s perspective.

I truly didn’t know what to expect from this event. However, this event created a new experience for visitors, it is something new and not comparable to Geneva Motors Show. Organizers chose the beautiful space of the Domaine du Malagny and placed the cars outside. Swiss summertime was an ideal time to enjoy the event and stroll around under the shade of the trees. It was possible to join the VIP area, where food and beverage were available for the guests. So with a glass of Bollinger champagne in my hand (the event’s partner brand), I could walk around and admire the beauty of the supercars presented. As an art historian and beauty lover, I truly enjoyed exploring the futuristic designs and interiors of the supercars. My husband on the other side was interested more in the features of the cars. There was clearly something for the whole family to discover and explore. Even children were welcomed and could even seat in selected cars. Some of the partnerships presented were also with fashion designers, as fashion and cars always go together. I proved it many times while organizing fashion shows with automotive brands. Camilla Ghione was the fashion partner, an Italian artist that runs a fashion house based in Monaco and combines fashion and art in her work.

The line-up of the Supercars.

Geneva Supercar Show brought many big and elite, niche names to our beautiful city.

I will start with the Alpine A4810, a hydrogen supercar, created by manufacturer Alpine and students from IED. IED stand for: Instituto Europeo di Design.

The Czinger brand came all the way from Los Angeles and seduced us with their futuristic and revolutionary Czinger 21C. The car looks like a car from the future and has the first 3D-printed gearbox. Everything about this car leaves people amazed.

The GFG Kangaroo concept car from GFG Style was designed by Fabrizio Giugiaro and featured the most hedonistic car with interiors that charmed all aesthetics lovers. It’s a car that was already presented in Switzerland in winter during Snow Polo in St. Moritz. I am obsessed with the beauty of their seat design and how comfortable they are.

Palladium from Aznom Automotive, is the longest sedan in the world with luxury back seats that were hard to leave behind. Top Gear’s fav Radical Motorsport introduced respectively their SR10 XXR and Genty Automobile their concept car.

Maffi Racing (Geneva-based) presented its simulator for Formula4, Karting and Slim-racing. It was so far the favourite exhibitor of my 5-year-old son. He was so excited to seat in one of the karting that he was speechless for a moment and he now is asking when he can start racing. They also had a Formula stimulator and it was a very popular idea as they had a line of people queuing to try it.

I also loved to see the tuners and resalers like Geneva Cars, who presented unique Ferrari and Porsche Targa, or Hofele, an automotive designer who specializes in the personalisation of Mercedes-Benz. The models that they were presenting were truly unique and one of my favourite supercars presented during the Geneva Supercars Show.

There were also cars that are committed to preserving the plant. The Fulminea from Automobili Estrema, a fully electric hypercar, testifies to this, as does its German neighbour, Boldmen, with the Roadster, whose carbon-fibre frame is a testimony to the highest levels of craftsmanship and engineering. VIP pass holders will also be able to take a ride around the estate in a luxurious, latest-generation electric golf car, the Garia Golf and also Lucid, California-created cars. I took advantage and took Garia for a short ride with my son around the Domane. It was so easy to use and I enjoyed it a lot. As there was also the option of trying Lucid another time, I booked my appointment and will be able to have a full experience with this beautiful, fully-electric car.

I am glad that the Geneva Supercars Show concept was born and I am happy to see how it was implemented. I also had the pleasure to speak with Mr Manoj Bairstow, the managing director of the project and Mr Nicholas Rudaz, CEO of the Franck Muller brand. They both expressed their satisfaction with the event and shared some insights on the 2nd edition that will become even more impactful in the supercars scene. I am looking forward then to following the development of this event and visiting it again.
